Plantation Walk Apartments and Shops
Revitalizing a stagnant mall
Heading into this project, our goal was simple but ambitious: turn a declining mall into a flourishing community hub.
We envisioned a walkable district inspired by the charm of European town centers, where residents could shop, gather, and enjoy good company. A pedestrian-friendly main street would become the heart of the project, lined with storefronts, plazas, and two mid-rise residential buildings designed to invite a slower pace of life.
What remained of the original mall was carefully integrated into the plan, blending old structures with new purpose. In place of decline, we created a destination where everyday life feels special, vibrant, and full of connection.

Big picture thinking, block by block
BC Architects inherited a preliminary site plan and reimagined it as a fully buildable community center. We refined layouts, shaped unit designs with future residents in mind, and aligned every detail to the client’s larger vision.
Through evolving circumstances, we stayed grounded in what mattered most: creating a true gathering place, and spaces people would be proud to call home.
Town charms and home comforts
While we needed to clear much of the original mall, we preserved several structures. These would become key pieces in our vision — reminders of the city’s history, and starting points for what would come next.
To create a town center feel and aesthetic, we treated the buildings as a collection rather than one entity. Varied forms, colors, and materials break up the structure and offer a layered visual experience.
The result is a place that feels familiar and fresh all at once, more like a neighborhood than a development.
A dynamic live-work-play space
A once-forgotten mall is now a sought-after residence, an upmarket shopping destination, and a cornerstone for the community.
